7T and 3T Whole-Body MRI at the CIND
The Center for Imaging of Neurodegenerative Diseases (CIND) is located at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. It is equipped with 3 Tesla and 7 Tesla magnets that are available for use by clinicians and researchers.
The 3 Tesla MRI at the Center for Imaging of Neurodegenerative Diseases is a wide bore Skyra system Siemens magnet. The magnet arrived in 2011 and has a wide variety of coils and tools that allow it to be used for an impressive array of studies and clinical scans, as well as creating the opportunity for the development of new techniques.
The 3T Skyra continues to foster CIND’s reputation for cutting edge advanced techniques in structural and functional brain imaging, while providing ample opportunities for other research labs, clinicians, and independent projects to utilize the equipment. The 3T Skyra is ready and available for use for research and clinical purposes.
The most recent addition at the Center for Imaging of Neurodegenerative Diseases is a 7 Tesla magnet. It is a Siemens system wide bore, ultra-high field magnet with multiple coils and tools. It will be available for both brain and whole body imaging research.
