Yet Again, the UCSF Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is a Top-Ranked Program According to Doximity!
For new physicians, choosing a medical residency is one of the most important decisions they will make in their professional lives. Choosing radiology as a specialty means choosing something that touches just about everything in medicine. Almost every medical specialty orders imaging studies, and working in radiology means that you will continue to deal with matters related to internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, surgery and more. At UCSF, our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program offers a varied practice, as well as active basic science, translational, and patient-centered research training, providing a broad range of experiences.
Due to COVID-19, residency interviews are being conducted virtually. This makes it more difficult to find the right fit. Doximity’s Residency Navigator serves as a resource to help medical students make informed choices. About 90 percent of fourth-year medical students use the residency navigator to help choose the right program to align with their career goals. Doximity recently launched their 2020-2021 Residency Navigator. Our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is top-ranked in reputation and second-ranked in research output. This is the seventh consecutive year that our clinical training program has been ranked first amongst the top-rated diagnostic radiology residency programs in the nation.
The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is directed by Soonmee Cha, MD, professor and vice chair for education. Jason Talbott, MD, PhD is the associate program director and Jesse Courtier, MD (Mission Bay Medical Center) and Preeti Sukerkar, MD, PhD (SF VAMC) are site directors.
At UCSF, across all schools and departments, we embrace PRIDE values: Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence. In radiology, diversity can help us best serve patient populations, solve problems and continue to innovate. We are proud to be one of the largest and most diverse programs in the U.S. Our mission continues to be to train leaders in teaching, clinical care, research, and public service.
