The UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging has a rich tradition of innovation, generating countless technological advancements and imaging applications. The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program’s mission reflects this tradition. We want to train leaders in research, teaching, public service and clinical care. As a result, we are very proud to once again be a top-ranked program according to Doximity’s 2018-2019 Residency Program Navigator. This is the fifth consecutive year that our clinical training program has been ranked first amongst the top-rated diagnostic radiology residency programs in the nation.
For new physicians, choosing a medical residency is one of the most important decisions they will make in their professional lives. Since 2014, the Residency Navigator has served as a resource to help medical students make informed choices. Their methodology includes three major parts – a current resident and result alumni satisfaction survey, objective data and reputation data.
Our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is top-ranked in both reputation and research output.
Diversity is definitely a hallmark of our residency. We welcome and encourage applications from all qualified candidates, including women and members of underrepresented minority groups. We offer a varied practice, as well as active basic science, translational, and patient-centered research training, providing a broad range of experiences for our residents. Such training can prepare graduates for a career in academics or private practice.
