October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the perfect time to bring attention to the sharp declines in breast cancer screening due to COVID-19. Remember that mammography provides early detection of breast cancer and mammography saves lives.

UCSF radiologists are part of the collaborative Multidisciplinary Approach to the Placenta Service (MAPS) team playing an important role in the diagnosis and management of pregnancies complicated by placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders.

Miles Conrad, MD, MPH and Preeti Sukerkar, MD, PhD are coaches in the UCSF Bridges program, a curriculum that educates UCSF medical students to prepare and excel as physician leaders to transform 21st century health care.

Now in its 5th year, the RIDR program provides an opportunity for high school, college, and medical students, from groups that are historically underrepresented in Radiology or disadvantaged, to participate in basic science, translational, or clinical radiology research projects for eight weeks during their summer break. The department is seeking crowdfunding to support the 2022 class of RIDR students.
