Global Health

At the UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, our faculty members have committed to several global health efforts that truly embrace and exemplify UCSF PRIDE Values – Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence. We'll briefly share a few of these efforts.

The cancer burden in Sub-Saharan Africa is growing. A multi-disciplinary collaboration between UCSF, MUHAS, and Ocean Road Cancer Institute (OCRI) has formed to focus on global cancer research.

Bhavya Rehani, MD, William Dillon, MD and Ankur Bharija, MD came to together to create Health4theworld which uses innovative technology for social good. This project was recently honored with a premier business award.

A technology platform that enables live virtual radiology lectures for international radiology residents is among the first grant recipients of  “Inspire-Innovate-Invest, The Campaign for Funding Radiology's Future®.”

I was fortunate to be named the 2014 ASNR Outreach Professor for Mumbai, India, a position which allowed me the opportunity to travel across the world to lecture, perform case reviews and speak at the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association annual meeting
