UCSF-SFGH Breast Imaging Group “Making Strides” Against Breast Cancer!

The Breast Imaging Group from UCSF and SFGH are joining forces and “Making Strides” to support the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer on October 24! We’re thrilled to once again walk, raise funds and help to end breast cancer.

“The UCSF-SFGH Breast Imaging Group walks each year in support of the American Cancer Society ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ Walk,” says Chief of Breast Imaging Bonnie N. Joe, MD, PhD, who is leading a team at the annual ACS fundraising event. “We are proud to be walking again on October 24 and invite you to join us!”

The 5K walk will be held in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and departs from Hellman Hollow.

Funds raised at the American Cancer Society’s 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer' Walk benefit three key areas of their mission:

  • Support for groundbreaking breast cancer research to better understand, prevent, find and treat the disease.
  • Comprehensive support for those touched by breast cancer by providing free information, answers and support.
  • Early detection and prevention to help people take the steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find the disease when it is most treatable.

“Breast Imaging at UCSF and SFGH support annual mammography screening recommendations by the American Cancer Society,” notes Dr. Joe “We are pleased to be supporting this worthy organization once again this year.”

We encourage all to join the UCSF-SFGH Radiology Team or support by making a donation at the Team Page!
