This week is National Nurses Week, started by the American Nurses Association to celebrate and elevate the nursing profession. On May 8, 2019 the UCSF Health Department of Nursing held their annual Nurses' Week Awards ceremony. Two nurses from UCSF Radiology were honored.

"UCSF Radiology is proud to announce that two of our outstanding nurses, Ivy Wong, RN and Adela Tan, RN are being honored with awards for their skilled nursing and compassionate care of our patients,” says Charlene Fong, RN, administrative nurse and supervisor. “Both nurses were recognized today at an award ceremony."

Adela Tan, RN was selected as the Daisy Nurse Leader Award recipient. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses was established by the DAISY Foundation (Foundation for the elimination of Diseases Attacking the Immune System) in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. The award is given to honor, recognize and express appreciation for the extraordinary work that nurses do every day.

Ivy Wong, RN works in the Neurointerventional Radiology clinical section. She received the Helen Ripple Excellence in Neuroscience Nursing Award. Nominees of this award are identified by colleagues and other health professionals as role models in one or more of the following areas:
