John Mongan, MD, PhD recently published Radiology for Kids with co-authors Brandon Pham, MD, and Betty Nguyen. The book is the tenth title in Medical School for Kids, a charming, beautifully illustrated series by Pham and Nguyen that introduces children to medical specialties.
In this video, Dr. Vella is reading a pediatric congenital heart scan alongside a 3D model of the patient's heart, with the 3D model providing a full-picture view of the heart. The 3D model is developed using CT and MRI scans.

We are excited to congratulate Amanda Baker, MD, for receiving the Charlotte and Thierry Huisman Travel Grant Award. Dr. Baker, a Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology Fellow at the UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, was presented with the award at the January 13-15 Annual American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR) Scientific Meeting in New Orleans.
One of the major research projects of the Bone Quality Research Lab in the UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging hopes to apply novel high-resolution image acquisition and analysis to both quantify bone quality deterioration in PLWH relative to uninfected controls and determine the relationship between bone marrow adiposity and bone quality deterioration in PLWH.
