Sarah J. Nelson, PhD
UCSF, Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging

Dr. Sarah J. Nelson, PhD, is a Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging with secondary appointment in the Department of Neurology. She is the Margaret Hart Surbeck Distinguished Professor of Advanced Imaging, Director of the Surbeck Laboratory, and Director of the Brain Research Interest Group at the University of California, San Francisco. She completed her BSc in Mathematics at the University of Manchester in England, and obtained her PhD in Biomathematics at the University of Heidelberg, Department of Mathematics in West Germany. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Biostatics at Fox Chase Institute for Cancer Research in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Susan Chang, MD
UCSF, Department of Neurological Surgery

Dr. Susan Chang, MD, is the Director of the UCSF Division of Neuro-Oncology and is an internationally recognized leader in the field of neurological malignancies. Her research expertise is in clinical trial design and the development of novel therapies and imaging biomarkers for brain tumors. Dr. Chang is the principal investigator and co-investigator on more than 20 active clinical trials that evaluate the wide spectrum of therapeutic interventions, spanning chemotherapy, targeted agents, immunotherapy, and convection-enhanced delivery of novel agents.
