Neuroradiology Fellowship
The UCSF Neuroradiology Fellowship Program currently offers three pathways for candidates interested in fellowship-level training. All require one (post-residency) year of ACGME neuroradiology fellowship training, with ten accredited ACGME slots available per year. The primary pathway is a two-year fellowship offered to radiologists wishing to develop careers in academic neuroradiology. Eighteen full-time faculty share in the training. Training includes all aspects of diagnostic neuroradiology (including spine procedures, neurograms, pediatrics, functional MRI, MSI/MEG, spectroscopy, PET, head/neck, angiography) as well as exposure to interventional neuroangiography, neuropathology, and neurosurgery. There are many ongoing research programs in all neuroradiology disciplines. Weekly interdisciplinary conferences highlight the clinical interactions. The fellowship enables radiologists to become independent, competent contributors to the investigation of neurological disease.

Neuroradiology Fellowship Program
Thank you for your interest in applying to the UCSF neuroradiology fellowship program. We are participating in the neuroradiology fellowship match administered by the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). All applicants for 2027-2028 must apply through ERAS and register with the NRMP.
Contact the National Resident Match Program (NRMP) (202-862-6077) to register for an AAMC ID#, or view their website www.nrmp.org for additional information.
Eligibility requirements for a UCSF Neuroradiology Fellowship include:
- Successful completion of an ACGME accredited diagnostic radiology residency
- Proof of US citizenship and/or eligibility for US employment upon hire. Foreign medical graduates must obtain an appropriate visa, usually a UCSF-sponsored ECFMG-J1 visa.
- UCSF does not use race, gender, sex, or other protected categories or proxies for protected categories in the eligibility or selection process
We will not accept any external candidates outside the match. In the rare occasion of open fellowship positions, we will list them here and post applications.
Those wishing to apply to a diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship and interventional neuroradiology fellowship at the same institution are excused from the match and are encouraged to apply directly to both. Please visit NIR Fellowship webpage for application information. Those pursuing a diagnostic year at a different institution from the interventional year(s) must match for the diagnostic year.
We encourage applicants to submit their completed application materials via ERAS prior to December 3, 2025, when our program begins review of applications and sends out interview applications. All interviews for this application cycle will occur virtually.
