UCSF Housing Locations
- The Tidelands – Located in the Dogpatch neighborhood and next to Mission Bay
- Aldea San Miguel – A family-friendly community surrounded by a forest on Mount Sutro, one mile from the Parnassus Heights Campus
- Mount Zion Housing – A smaller complex next to the Mount Zion campus, in the niddle of the city where you can walk to restaurants, shops, and more
- Mission Bay Housing – On the Mission Bay Campus near shuttle stops, the gym, and more, these four buildings create our largest housing complex
Salary
Salaries are standardized across all UCSF fellowship and determined by the contract negotiated by the union to ensure compensation which matches the cost of living in San Francisco.

Moonlighting
Trainees are allowed to participate in external/internal moonlighting with the written permission of the program director. More information will be written in our Fellowship Policy.
Fellowship Stipend
Each trainee receives UCSF meal card, fellowship education funds, and relocation reimbursement.
Fellow Educational Funds – Effective 7/1/2024
- License Expenses: Clinically required licenses (California License, ACLS or BLS, & Fluoroscopy only) will be paid by the department.
- Fellow Educational Fund: Fellows receive $500 per year to spend on educational materials.
- Conference Fund: All fellows will be eligible to apply for conference funds per attached guidelines. The department Education Fund will pay for all approved fellows’ conference costs per the guidelines for only one (1) conference. The fellow will have to secure their own funding for any additional conferences.
- Relocation Reimbursement: All NEW GME trainees to UCSF will be eligible for relocation reimbursement up to $1,800.
Leave Policy
Each trainee is given 20 days of vacation and 12 days of sick leave throughout the academic year. Maternity/Parental Leave is given 40 days (eight weeks) per academic year. (Can be used for birth, foster placement, or adoption as well.)
