Breast cancer screening in women aged 40 to 49 continues to make headlines. At UCSF we recommend all women aged between 40 and 49 years old undergo annual screening mammography.

The California Blueprint for Research to Advance Innovations in Neuroscience, a neurotechnology program in California aimed at innovations applicable to the full spectrum of brain disorders, recently awarded UCSF’s Myriam M. Chaumeil, PhD, a prestigious grant.

The UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging team continues to make headlines on a global basis. Dr. Thomas Link, Radiology Professor, Chief of Musculoskeletal Imaging and Clinical Director of the Musculoskeletal and Quantitative Imaging Research (MQIR) Group, was recently featured in Diario Médico.

Hosted by the department’s Research Retreat Committee, the first dedicated Research Retreat allowed researchers from different academic backgrounds to interact, understand areas of commonality and interest, and explore new approaches to biomedical imaging.

Dr. Judy Yee assumed the presidency of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR) at the Society’s annual meeting held March 22-27 in San Diego, CA!

It is with great excitement that we celebrate and acknowledge two great careers – one leaving behind a tremendous legacy and the other bringing fresh perspective for the future.
