Each September, UCSF Radiology celebrates Women in Medicine (WIM) Month. Our department strives to promote a diverse, inclusive and welcome environment, including support for women in radiology.

Jim Barkovich, MD, professor in residence and chief of Pediatric Neuroradiology at the UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and a renowned expert in the field of neuroradiology and pediatric neuroradiology, retired at the end of June 2020 after a long and successful career.

It's important to remind people that it is safe to get a mammogram during the COVID-19 pandemic as long as you are not feeling sick or have COVID-19 symptoms.

Van Halbach, MD recently gave the Grant Hieshima Luminary Lecture at the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS) Annual Meeting. This is the SNIS' biggest honor and the first year of the lecture's investiture for late Grant Hieshima, MD, longtime UCSF faculty member and NeuroIR pioneer.
