The UCSF Radiology and Biomedical Imaging department celebrates National Mentoring Month in January. The department's formal mentoring program, managed by the Academic Affairs team, aims to demystify the academic process for junior faculty members and ensure that they are well-supported in their careers.

Each year in late November, UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging faculty, staff, and trainees attend the RSNA Annual Meeting at McCormick Place in  Chicago.

UCSF Medical Center’s sonographers have been very hard at work. The department encourages staff to obtain additional certifications to enhance patient care and several have succeeded in becoming Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographers (RMSKS™).

UCSF's Henry VanBrocklin Receives the Prestigious Aebersold Award at SNMMI

Congratulations to Henry VanBrocklin, PhD, FSNMMI, FSRS, recipient of the 2023 Paul C. Aebersold Award! Dr. VanBrocklin is a professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and director of the Radiopharmaceutical Research Program in the Center for Molecular and Functional Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is also one of the core faculty for the Master's in Biomedical Imaging (MSBI) program. Dr. VanBrocklin received the award on June 25 at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) Annual Meeting in Chicago.

UCSF Radiology Faculty, Alumni and Trainees Recognized at Commencement 2023

Congratulations to our 2023 graduates and award recipients. Commencement was held on June 9 at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco with an in-person and virtual ceremony. We were pleased to honor residents and fellows and their families for achieving this career milestone. Department faculty, alumni and senior department administrators attended the celebration, which included a number of award presentations for outstanding achievements in teaching, mentoring, clinical care, research and service.

Two UCSF Radiology Faculty Selected for the ARRS Clinical Educator Development Program

We are excited to announce that Roxanna Juarez, MD, and Shravan Sridhar, MD, MS, have been selected to attend the Clinical Educator Development Program (CEDP) in April in Honolulu, HI, hosted by the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS). The UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging would like to recognize these two faculty members, chosen from a nationwide pool of applicants.
