SYNOPSIS

We are offering a 10 week course on medical imaging informatics as a resource for students as well as for professionals who seek to become more familiar with state-of-the-art concepts of image processing and analysis. During the course the participants will learn the principles of imaging informatics, information theory, modern strategies of image processing, warping, spatial normalization, statistical parametric mapping, non-parametric image statistics. Though many examples in this course will apply to brain MRI, the presented strategies are general, apply to a wide range of other medical imaging modalities, such as CT, SPECT and PET, and also cover strategies of image fusion. The course is free. However, students who seek to earn credits need to register for the course via https://saa.ucsf.edu/studentportal/.
