Manganese porphyrin catalyzed selective sp3 C-H bond halogenations
Date
Wei Liu, PhD Wei Liu, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University, New Jersey, in the Department of Chemistry. In 2014, Dr. Liu received his PhD in chemistry from Princeton University. He collaborates with the Hooker group at Harvard Medical School to translate the F19 C-H fluorination chemistry to F18 chemistry applying these novel reactions for PET imaging. Dr. Liu developed a manganese porphyrin catalyzed aliphatic C-H chlorination reaction, and also developed the first oxidative aliphatic C-H fluorination reaction using an easily handled fluoride source. In 2013, he was awarded the 2013 Extraordinary Potential Prize for Outstanding Chinese Students Studying Abroad. |
