Speakers

Peder Larson, PhD
Assistant Professor, Radiology
University of California San Francisco

“Functional Assessment of Cardiac and Vascular System: Feasibility and Proof of Concept Work using Hyperpolarized C13 MRI”

Dr. Peder Larson is an Associate Professor in Residence and a Principal Investigator in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Larson's research program is primarily centered around developing new MRI scanning and reconstruction technology for improved clinical outcomes. These developments in his group are aimed at several applications. See more.

Roselle Abraham, MD
Associate Professor, Medicine
University of California San Francisco

“Opportunities for Imaging in Clinical Evaluation of Cardiovascular Function”

Dr. Roselle Abraham is a cardiologist with expertise in the treatment of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She is a physician scientist with a background in electrophysiology, imaging and stem cell research. She is using multi-modality imaging for risk stratification of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. The overall goal of her research program is to use a combination of multi-modality clinical imaging and studies in model systems to tailor therapies for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. See more.

Jing Liu, PhD
Associate Professor, Radiology
University of California San Francisco

“Tissue Mapping of the Myocardium”

Dr. Jing Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. She obtained her BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2001, and she earned her MS in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University in Canada in 2003, followed by her PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008. From 2008-2010, she served as a postdoctoral associate in Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. In December 2010, Dr. Liu accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Radiology in UCSF’s Cardiovascular Imaging Research Interest Group at China Basin. See more.

Dimitrios Mitsouras, PhD
Associate Professor, Radiology
University of California San Francisco

“Imaging in the Assessment of Fractional Flow Reserve in Coronary Artery Disease”

Dr. Dimitrios Mitsouras is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF and Medical Physicist at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC). He is Chair of the MR Safety Committee at the SFVAMC, and Director of TRST 3D, the Veterans Affairs Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21) 3D Radiology Service. Dr. Mitsouras has previously held faculty appointments in the Department of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and has served as Director of the Applied Imaging Science Lab in the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, and as Associate Editor of the journal 3D Printing In Medicine.
