Gender Pay Gap

Dr. Nadine Abi-Jaoudeh is a board-certified, fellowship-trained UCI Health radiologist who specializes in diagnostic and vascular and interventional radiology. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive, image-guided procedures such as chemoembolization, radioembolization and ablation, as well as vascular and non-vascular procedures.

Diversity in Radiology

Dr. Brown is Professor of Clinical Radiologic Sciences and Section Chief of Thoracic Imaging in the Department of Radiological Sciences. She joined the UCLA faculty in 1986, where she quickly distinguished herself as an outstanding educator. Dr. Brown’s career includes a list of impressive teaching accomplishments. She has taught medical students ranging from PBL to our Doctoring program and third year radiology clerkships, and serves as the Vice-Chair of the College of Applied Anatomy. She has made contributions to graduate medical education and has served as a preceptor in our pre-medical pipeline programs. She is the recipient of multiple teaching awards including the Excellence in Education Award and the Serge and Yvette Dadone Clinical Teaching Award. Dr. Brown is past president of the Association of Black Women Physicians, and served on the American College of Radiology Imaging Network Special Populations Committee. She is currently the Vice-Chair for the Section of Radiology and Radiation Oncology of the National Medical Association and the Assistant Dean for Equity and Diversity Inclusion.

Building a Research Career as a Physician-Scientist

Dr. Christine Chung is a world-renowned musculoskeletal radiologist, professor of radiology, clinical translational researcher, and the director of UCSD's MSK Imaging Research Group. She has successfully mentored undergraduate students, medical students, radiology residents, radiology fellows, post-doctoral candidates, and junior faculty. She has more than 100 peer review manuscripts in scientific journals and has edited three MSK radiology textbooks. Dr. Chung was recognized for her excellence in research and was awarded the President’s Medal of the International Skeletal Society.

Advancement/Merits/Promotions in the UC system

Dr. Christine Glastonbury is a Neuroradiologist and a Professor of Clinical Radiology, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and Radiation Oncology. She is also the Radiology Vice Chair for Academic Affairs at the University of California, San Francisco. She obtained her MBBS from the University of Adelaide, South Australia in 1991, and completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, Australia. Her fellowship in General Radiology was completed at Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals in London with oncology radiology training at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey, UK. Following this she completed a two-year fellowship in Neuroradiology, followed by a Body MR fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Work-Life Balance

Dr. Elizabeth Morris is an internationally recognized expert in breast imaging and has been an active clinician her entire career. She specialized in high-risk screening and the use of contrast-based screening, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and contrast-enhanced digital mammography (CEDM).

The Imperative For Inclusion in Radiology

Dr. Kristin Porter completed her undergraduate training at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, graduating in 1998. After working for two years as a biologist in Pfizer’s neuroscience drug discovery division in Groton, CT, she returned to the MD/PhD program at Dartmouth College.  She completed her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2004 and her MD in 2009 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical School.  After completing her Radiology residency in the Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2014 and the Body and Cardiovascular MRI Fellowship at Johns Hopkins in 2015, she joined their Diagnostic Imaging faculty in the Body Imaging Division.  Dr. Porter is currently an Associate Professor at University of Alabama in Birmingham in the Abdominal Imaging section.
