Dr. Matthew Davenport is the William Martel Professor of Radiology and Professor of Urology, and Service Chief and Vice Chair in the Department of Radiology at Michigan Medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert on the safety and efficacy of radiographic contrast material. Dr. Davenport has served on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Medical Imaging Drugs Advisory Committee, the National Cancer Institute Clinical Imaging Steering Committee, and as Chair of the American College of Radiology's Committee on Drugs and Contrast Media. He co-chairs the Oversight Committee of multicenter research groups working within the Society of Abdominal Radiology and is the current Vice Chair of the ACR Commission on Quality and Safety. He is a co-author on national policy statements, has published 250 manuscripts, was founder of the Michigan Radiology Quality Collaborative, and co-directs the Weiser Center for Prostate Cancer. His primary clinical interests include patient safety, high-value care, and urologic imaging.
