Osteoporosis – Learn what our community can do to prevent and treat this common disease. From on-time screening, to advances in science, the UCSF community will come together with neighbors to share important insights. We welcome hearing your experiences and perspectives regarding this critical matter.

According to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, osteoporosis is estimated to affect 200 million women worldwide. Men also experience the condition, which weakens bones and makes them subject to fracture, and are more likely than women to die after breaking a hip.

Regular screening will diagnose osteoporosis and other bone problems early. That way they can be managed and even curbed with prescription medicines and lifestyle modifications.
