Speakers

Frederik J. Beekman, PhD
Chief
Department of Biomedical Imaging
Delft University of Technology, Netherlands

Prof. Freek Beekman Ph.D. heads the section Biomedical Imaging at TU Delft University. He co-authored over 160 journal papers and is the inventor on 16 life patent families. Dr. Beekman was honored with many awards for his contributions to SPECT and PET technology and its application in biomedical research (recently e.g. 2013 Dutch Physics Valorisation Prize, the 2015 & 2018 World Molecular Imaging Innovation of the Year and SNMMI 2017 Edward Hoffman Memorial Award).  His present research interests include biomedical imaging devices and image reconstruction, including deep-learning and theranostics. He is an associate editor of several journals and founder and CEO/CSO of MILabs (www.milabs.com) a rapidly growing scale-up that develops and markets high performance biomedical imaging systems.
