Welcoming Amanda Liu, MD, to UCSF's Pediatric Radiology Division

Amanda Liu, MD

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging welcomes Amanda Liu, MD, to the Pediatric Radiology division as a faculty member.

Dr. Liu earned her medical degree at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Following an internship at the Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program in Arizona, she completed a diagnostic radiology residency at UCSF, receiving the Elmer Ng Outstanding Resident Award for her hard work. She then traveled to the East Coast to complete her pediatric radiology fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia before returning to UCSF.

Passionate about radiology education, Dr. Liu was chair of the Resident Curriculum Committee, developing a new in-service exam, end-of-rotation quizzes and monthly site-based case competitions. She completed the UCSF GME Health Professions Education Pathway. To improve first-year residents' call preparedness, she created a set of pediatric musculoskeletal radiography modules with pre- and post-tests.

During her fellowship, Dr. Liu demonstrated her leadership by serving as the fellow representative on the CHOP Radiology Education Committee. Her expertise was further recognized when she was selected as the fellow representative for the National Pediatric Radiology Fellowship Curriculum Editorial Board of the Society for Pediatric Radiology. She has shared her knowledge through multiple lectures to medical students and residents, and as a fellow, she was invited back to UCSF to lecture as the Residents' Visiting Professor for CORE preparation.

We anticipate her contributions to research and education. Join us in welcoming Dr. Liu to UCSF!
