UCSF’s Dr. Heather Greenwood Places 13th in SF Marathon!

UCSF faculty & staff aren’t just at the top of the field of radiology – they’re making strides in the competitive running circuit, too!

Dr. Heather Greenwood, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology in Breast Imaging, placed 13th out of 4130 female runners and 5th in her age group at the 2015 San Francisco Marathon. “It was my birthday, and I love running, so to celebrate a bunch of my friends and I started the day by running the SF first half marathon,” said Dr. Greenwood. “Although it was a hard race that started at 5:30 am so I'm not sure they would use the word “celebrate" to describe it!”

In addition to Dr. Greenwood, Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging members and friends who participated in the 2015 SF Marathon on July 26 included Dr. Ron Zagoria and his wife Kat, and Residency Program Coordinator Sandria Wong.

The SF Marathon, first held in 1977, travels through many of the city’s unique neighborhoods and along the beautiful SF Waterfront and across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Congratulations to all the participants! We look forward to cheering you on in 2016.
