The Minnies recognize and honor professionals who have made significant contributions in various categories, from research and education to leadership and innovation. This year's semifinalists include faculty, trainees, and staff of the UCSF Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging.
Amie Lee, MD, contributed an editorial to Radiology, the journal of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) titled "Nipple-sparing Mastectomy in the Era of Neoadjuvant Systemic Therapy: The Accuracy of Preoperative MRI." Dr. Lee is an associate professor in the breast imaging division in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco.
In pediatric imaging, anesthesia is commonly thought to be necessary for obtaining high-quality diagnostic imaging, but an innovative program at the UCSF is challenging that idea. The Scan Without Anesthesia Program (SWAP) is a collaborative effort by clinicians, radiographic technologists, nurses and Child Life Specialists to prepare children for successful imaging without anesthesia.
Christopher Brunson, MD, an interventional radiologist, will join ZSFG. Kevin Sweetwood, MD, will continue with our musculoskeletal division. Allen Ye, MD, PhD, will join our Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital team as a neuroradiologist.
