UCSF Radiologists Recognized in Bay Area & Nationwide!

When undergoing an imaging procedure, it’s important for patients to be at ease. Tranquil scan suitesopen communication and, especially, knowing their radiologists are at the top of the field are just a few ways in which the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging gives patients peace of mind during imaging scans. We’re thrilled to recognize a number of UCSF radiologists who were honored, in the Bay Area and across the United States, for being at the top of their fields, as well as for their contributions to radiology and the medical community.

UCSF’s Drs. Ronald Arenson and William Dillon, Jr., were recently named to the list of the 25 Top Radiology Professors by Medical Technology Schools. Drs. Arenson and Dillon were selected after Medical Technology Schools researched the most important radiologic publications, research, and programs from around the country.

Medical Technology Schools outlines the award:

“Radiology is a rapidly advancing field, and as the technology and methodology becomes more advanced, it is vital that radiology students learn from professors who have not only mastered their craft, but also demonstrated a commitment to further innovation and development of the science. Although taking courses from these game-changers does not guarantee you will have a better education, it is one of the most proactive ways to ensure that you are exposed to connections and concepts that can form the basis of a productive and successful radiologic career.”

Ronald Arenson, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and the Alexander R. Margulis Distinguished Professor of Radiology at UCSF. He currently serves as the President of RSNA. William Dillon, Jr., MD, is the Elizabeth A. Guillaumin Professor of Radiology, Executive Vice Chair of Radiology, and Chief of the Neuroradiology Section at UCSF.
