UCSF, Once Again, Ranks in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals in America!

UCSF Medical Center ranks among the nation's top premier hospitals, according to the 2012-13 America's Best Hospitals’ survey conducted by U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, the medical center has been ranked the  best hospital in Northern California.

UCSF earned a spot on the survey's honor roll, which recognized 17 hospitals that are near the top of the rankings for at least six individual specialties. U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide and only 0.4 percent made up the Honor Roll, a distinction that signals both rare breadth and depth of medical excellence.

The latest rankings showcase more than 700 hospitals out of about 5,000 hospitals nationwide. Each is ranked among the country's top hospitals in at least one medical specialty and/or ranked among the best hospitals in its metro area.

The U.S. News' best hospital score summarizes overall quality of inpatient care, considering measures of survival rates, reputation, patient safety, nurse staffing, and technology adoption.

Additional, we  want to congratulate the UCSF radiologists selected as the nation’s Best Doctors by the U.S. News & World Report. The ranking was based on a peer nomination process.

15 UCSF radiologists are among the top 10% in the nation, with 6 of the 15 earning spots in the top 1% category, including:
