Dr. David Naeger Honored with Selection to Haile T. Debas Academy

The Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators at UCSF recently announced that David M. Naeger, MD, will be inducted into the Academy, a rare accomplishment bestowed on only 5% of the medical school’s faculty. This honor recognizes Dr. Naeger as a “highly accomplished medical educator.” He will be inaugurated as a member at the Academy’s Celebration of New Members at UCSF on September 22, 2014.

"Dave is incredibly deserving of this honor” commented Emily Webb, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology and Co-Chair of the Medical Education Committee in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. “His efforts with our medical student programs have been tireless and highly successful, with his main radiology course at the Learning Center quickly becoming the most popular elective at UCSF.  Not to mention his personal teaching skills, which are phenomenal.  The students are lucky to have him."

Dedicated to creating an environment that enhances the status of teachers at UCSF, the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators promotes and rewards teaching excellence, fosters curricular innovation, and encourages scholarship in medical education. Academy members are recognized for their distinction as educators and their selection is the result of a rigorous review process.

I'm quite honored to be inducted into the Academy,” said Dr. Naeger about his selection. “Leading educators throughout the University comprise its ranks; the mentorship and camaraderie should be a great help as I continue to focus on advancing medical imaging education at UCSF.
