Laura's Story: My Breast Cancer Care Team at UCSF

For patients battling breast cancer, feeling simply like a medical record number can be devastating. UCSF’s breast cancer care team, made up of doctors, techs, and nurses, understands the importance of developing a deep and supportive connection with patients during such a trying and emotional time.

“When you’re sick and don’t recognize yourself, hearing a total stranger say something so touching and so genuine is such a special moment,” explains breast cancer survivor Laura Holmes Haddad, author of This Is Cancer: Everything You Need to Know, From the Waiting Room to the Bedroom.
