Celebrating Landmark Milestones at UCSF Imaging

We recently celebrated two landmark events in our department which we’re eager to share with our community.

10 Years of Excellence for Dr. Mark Wilson

Mark Wilson, MD, was recently honored with a surprise luncheon for his 10 years of dedicated leadership at Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Planned by Susan Wall and Christine Glastonbury, the luncheon was indeed a surprise, a highlight being the presence of Dr. Wilson’s sister, Susan Gunn, PhD, who flew in from Michigan.

Dr. Wilson has served our department and the greater community well with his devotion to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. He is not only a successful advocate for imaging – the new hospital was also well designed and resourced because he was involved in the planning since inception. In addition to his clinical leadership, Dr. Wilson has also been able to provide leadership to the Interventional Radiology Research Lab at China Basin and has always been a strong mentor to his faculty.

Congratulations to Dr. Wilson and thank you for your many contributions over these 10 years!

25 Years of Radiology Informatics

Recently, we enjoyed a walk down memory lane as we presented a program called “A Celebration of 25 Years of Radiological Informatics.” It is amazing to comprehend the advances in our field over this period of time and the impact of technology. We deserve to be proud of our roles as pioneers in this field establishing UCSF as a leader in PACS and informatics.

Thank you to my co-presenters Dave Avrin, Bill Dillon, Bob Gould, John Mongan, and Wyatt Tellis for an informative presentation.
