Adrian Marth, MD
Biography
Dr. Marth obtained his medical degree in 2019 from Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. He completed his residency at Charité University Hospital in Berlin, followed by fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology at Balgrist University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland. He served as a research fellow at the Swiss Center for Musculoskeletal Imaging at Balgrist Campus and Balgrist University Hospital, where his work focused on advanced imaging technologies in musculoskeletal radiology, including photon-counting CT and ultra-high-field MRI. Dr. Marth has published in leading journals, including Radiology, Investigative Radiology, and European Radiology. He received the prestigious Jubilee Prize from the Swiss Society of Radiology and research grants from the German Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology and the International Skeletal Society. At UCSF, his research is centered on the application of imaging biomarkers in osteoarthritis to assess disease severity and advance the understanding of disease onset and progression, with a particular emphasis on MRI-based assessment of synovitis.
