UCSF Welcomes Faculty Members Georg Feuerriegel, MD, and Brittany Harrison, MD
Georg Feuerriegel, MD, is Assistant Professor in Residence in Musculoskeletal Imaging. He earned his medical degree in 2018 from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and wrote his doctoral dissertation in musculoskeletal radiology during a research scholarship at UCSF in 2015. He completed his radiology residency at the University Hospital rechts der Isar, followed by a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology in 2024 at the Balgrist University Hospital, University of Zurich, one of Europe's leading centers for musculoskeletal medicine.
Dr. Feuerriegel's research focuses on quantitative MRI biomarkers, CT-like bone MRI, and deep learning-based image acceleration and enhancement, with an emphasis on translating advanced imaging technologies into clinically robust tools. Prior to joining UCSF, he served as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University Hospital rechts der Isar, TUM, and as a neuroradiology attending at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Hospital Munich, where he earned the Young Lecturer Award from TUM in 2022 for his contributions to medical education.
He serves as a peer reviewer for leading journals, including Radiology, and as an editorial board member of Radiology in Training. His work has been published in Radiology, Investigative Radiology, AJR, and European Radiology, and he has received multiple research awards from the Swiss Society of Radiology, the Swiss Society of Skeletal Radiology, and the German Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology.
Brittany Harrison, MD, is Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology in Interventional Radiology. She earned her MD from UCSF in 2016, followed by a surgical internship at the UCSF East Bay Surgery Program and an integrated diagnostic and interventional radiology Residency at UCLA in 2022, where she served as chief resident. Most recently, she was an interventional and diagnostic radiologist with CAIMA at CPMC, performing a diverse array of interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Dr. Harrison's clinical and research interests focus on image-guided body interventional procedures, with special interests in women's health and interventional oncology. She has volunteered in Kenya with RAD-AID International, working with IR fellows at the University of Nairobi. Dr. Harrison is active in the Society of Interventional Radiology, RSNA, and the American College of Radiology, and is proficient in Spanish.
