Frank Gaillard is an academic consultant neuroradiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and a prominent figure in global medical education, primarily as the founder of Radiopaedia.org

He graduated with honors from the University of Melbourne in 1998 and subsequently completed specialized fellowship training, including MRI at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and neuroradiology at Vancouver General Hospital in Canada.

He is internationally recognized as the Founder and CEO of Radiopaedia.org, the world’s largest collaborative online radiology resource. Since its inception in 2005, the platform has grown to reach well over 4 million unique visitors each month, providing free, high-quality reference articles and teaching cases to the global medical community. His mission through Radiopaedia is to democratize radiology education, ensuring that essential diagnostic resources are available to clinicians regardless of their location or personal or institutional wealth.

As an active academic and researcher, he has authored or co-authored 95 peer-reviewed publications, primarily on CNS tumours and computer-aided diagnosis/AI, and has been the recipient of numerous research grants. 

In 2021, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (UK). This prestigious honor is reserved for individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the field of clinical radiology on an international scale.
