Abdominal Radiologist Alyssa Kirsch, MD, Joins UCSF Faculty in the ZSFG Division

Alyssa Kirsch, MD UCSF facultyWe are thrilled to introduce Alyssa Kirsch, MD, our most recent faculty hire in our Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) division.

Having completed her abdominal imaging and ultrasound fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in December, department chair Christopher Hess, MD, PhD, notes that “Dr. Kirsch joins a strong and growing division at ZSFG with 21 full-time radiology faculty, a thriving emergency radiology program, and a team committed to providing the highest quality imaging for our underserved patients.”

Dr. Kirsch's medical journey began at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Rochester, Michigan, where she earned her medical degree in 2017. Following this, she pursued residency training in diagnostic radiology at Corewell Health University Hospital, where she was chief resident.

During her fellowship at UCSF, Dr. Kirsch focused on post-transplant and post-operative imaging, trauma-based radiology, and evaluation of rare pathology, with additional expertise in complex MRI cases, especially prostate, rectum, and gynecology. Dr. Kirsch's scholarship includes publications on fetal ultrasound, the effects of nitrous oxide abuse, and acute viral encephalitis. As an educator, Dr. Kirsch provides resident lectures on Introduction to Abdominal Imaging, Introduction to Breast Imaging, and Introduction to Genitourinary Imaging.
