Ankush Bajaj Receives 2026 Krevans Award
Each year, the Krevans Award goes to an outstanding resident showing commitment to service, clinical work, and overall excellence in radiology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). Named after Dr. Julius Krevans, former chancellor and dean of the UCSF school of medicine, it honors those who exhibit professionalism and commitment to our unique patient population.
Ankush Bajaj, MD, is grateful for the mentorship that led him to radiology residency at UCSF. “Radiology can be a field of indirect patient care. But the attendings at ZSFG, especially the neuroradiology division showed me the different ways in which radiology can change lives.”
ZSFG is a really unique, wonderful place to work. The spectrum of human experiences that you can see reflected in the imaging we see from patients at ZSFG, is really vital to me, not just as a radiologist, but as a human.
Bajaj, who comes from a family of physicians in the Chicago area, was thrilled that his mom was able to attend the award ceremony. “The fact that she was able to be in person to celebrate the work I've done made me really, really happy,” he said. “I'm super grateful to my family and to ZSFG for making that happen. All of my co-residents, especially my first-year co-residents in radiology, have been an important community to me, and have really made me feel welcome.”
