In 2018, he initiated a research collaboration between Stanford University and Fudan University, the largest children’s hospital in China to investigate ultrasound elastography as a biomarker for pediatric liver fibrosis. He also started the fetal MRI program at Lucile Packard and currently serves as Medical Director.

Dr Barth has served in leadership positions in several societies including President and Chair of the Board for the Society for Pediatric Radiology and President of SCORCH (Society for Chairs of Radiology Departments at Children’s Hospitals. He is a currently the Chair of the American College of Radiology Pediatric Commission and a member of the ACR Board of Chancellors. He also serves as Treasurer for the World Federation of Pediatric Imaging and on the Board of the Society for Pediatric Radiology.
