Radiology Education

Now in its 5th year, the RIDR program provides an opportunity for high school, college, and medical students, from groups that are historically underrepresented in Radiology or disadvantaged, to participate in basic science, translational, or clinical radiology research projects for eight weeks during their summer break. The department is seeking crowdfunding to support the 2022 class of RIDR students.

UCSF Radiology is very pleased to announce that our Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is top-ranked in reputation and second-ranked in research output according to Doximity's 2021-2022 Residency Navigator.

In addition to being the faces of the future of radiology, UCSF Radiology residents take the time to give back to their community through public service.

We asked Kirti Magudia, MD, PhD, 2020-21 abdominal imaging/ultrasound fellow and 2019-20 T32 trainee and Tyler Gleason, MD, radiology resident, class of 2021 and 2020-21 T32 trainee, several questions about their experiences as T32 fellows at UCSF Radiology.

Commencement 2021 was held on June 11, 2021, with a virtual ceremony. The UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging would like to take this opportunity to congratulate graduates.

Jae Ho Sohn, MD, MS (2019-20 T32 trainee) is a 2020-21 cardiothoracic fellow and Evan Calabrese, MD, PhD is a chief radiology resident, class of 2021 (PGY5) and 2020-21 T32 trainee. We asked them several questions about their experiences as T32 fellows at UCSF Radiology.

Vickie Feldstein, MD was interviewed about "Sonography for Sonographers" - an upcoming upcoming virtual CME workshop for sonographers hosted by UCSF Radiology.

As this history of 2020 is being written, the UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging would like to take a moment to recognize this year’s highlights in service, patient care, research and education as well as the many department members who advocate for racial justice. 

In 2021, we will host our UCSF Radiology Annual Review live online from January 11 –15, 2021. The live, interactive virtual conference will be taught by 50 UCSF Radiology faculty and will review the fundamentals of the major organ systems and corresponding imaging modalities.

Radiology residents at the UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging had a strong presence at this year's Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting.
