Cardiac Imaging

Cardiac CT: Non-invasive & Low Dose Radiation

We provide state-of-the-art techniques for non-invasive cardiac CT evaluation of the coronary arteries, with particular focus on low radiation techniques. Because UCSF employs the most advanced technology for radiation reduction, we can obtain high quality, cardiac CT images of the coronary arteries as well as the entire heart using just a small fraction of the radiation required for standard techniques.

Cardiac MRI: Determining Myocardial Viability

One of our major areas of expertise is cardiac imaging (cardiac MRI) for myocardial tissue characterization, including ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathies. We handle a particularly large volume of cardiomyopathies, which makes us especially experienced when it comes to myocarditis, amyloidosis, sarcoidosis and arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia. Additionally, our global reputation for cardiac MRI of congenital heart disease makes UCSF a referral center for all of Northern California and the world at large.
