The UCSF radiologists who specialize in cardiac and pulmonary imaging have received special training in their fields and perform all procedures and interpretations. Their reputation for research and clinical expertise is recognized worldwide. They have extensive knowledge of the full range and application of imaging techniques, enabling them to recommend the next best step if findings require urgent action, further characterization or subsequent follow-up.

On the cardiac side, our physicians are leaders in the early diagnosis and comprehensive evaluation of coronary artery disease and diseases of the myocardium.  On the pulmonary side, UCSF physicians are experts in imaging of pulmonary diseases, lung cancer including idiopathic pulmonary lung disease and pulmonary metastatic disease.  They are highly specialized in the latest modalities for imaging the respiratory tract and for diagnosing respiratory disease.
